Don’t miss Riverdance at the River Center for the Performing Arts!

Feb 10, 2026 ● By Raven Fairbanks

Tonight, Columbus gets one of those rare gifts that reminds you why live performance still matters. Riverdance is taking the stage at the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts, and if you’ve ever thought, “I should really get out and do something different,” this is your sign.

Riverdance isn’t just a dance show. It’s movement, music, history, and pure adrenaline wrapped into one experience. What began in the mid-1990s as a short televised performance turned into a worldwide phenomenon almost overnight. Irish dance stepped out of tradition and onto a global stage, evolving into something bold, athletic, and emotionally powerful. Thirty years later, it’s still doing exactly that.

This tour celebrates that legacy while spotlighting a new generation of performers who bring fresh energy and modern flair to a show people already love. The choreography is sharp, the music hits you in the chest, and the rhythm is so precise it feels unreal when you’re watching it live.

One of the dancers to watch tonight is Kieran Bryant, one of Riverdance’s lead performers. I had a chance to sit down and speak to him about his upbringing and the tour itself. Watch for that on NBC38.

Kieran grew up in Australia, started dancing at a very young age, and trained across multiple styles including ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, and musical theatre. That range shows onstage. He doesn’t just dance the steps, he commands the room. You can feel the confidence, the discipline, and the joy in every movement, even from the back of the theatre.

And that’s the thing about seeing something like this in person. Videos don’t capture the sound of dozens of feet striking the stage in perfect unison. They don’t replicate that collective moment when the audience leans forward at the same time, fully locked in.

The RiverCenter is built for nights like this. It’s one of the places that helps define Columbus as a city that values culture, creativity, and shared experiences. When we show up for performances like this, we’re not just applauding the artists. We’re investing in the kind of community we want to live in, one where world-class shows don’t just pass us by.

So if you’re debating what to do tonight, choose the thing that makes you feel something. Go downtown. Take your seat. Let yourself be amazed for a couple of hours. Support the performing arts, support your city, and remind yourself how good it feels to be part of something live and electric.

I promise, you’ll walk out with a little more rhythm in your step.
