Carver Tigers Finish What They Started. 2X!

Dec 18, 2025 ● By Raven Fairbanks

Columbus, Georgia doesn’t just cheer for winners, it raises them. In 2025, few stories captured that truth more powerfully than the season delivered by G.W. Carver High School football.

On the biggest stage Georgia high school football has to offer, inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the Tigers did what champions do: they played composed, disciplined, and relentless football. When the final whistle blew, Carver walked away with a 24–7 victory, an undefeated season, and a state championship trophy that represents far more than one night’s work.

This title wasn’t accidental. It was the result of months of preparation, belief, and leadership; especially from a head coach who knows exactly what wearing the Carver name means. Jarvis Jones, a Carver graduate who once starred on college and NFL fields, returned home not just to coach football, but to build men. In his first season at the helm, he guided the Tigers to the ultimate goal, continuing a standard of excellence that Carver football has come to be known for statewide.

What stood out most about this championship run was not flash or hype, but poise. The Tigers didn’t panic. They didn’t rush. They trusted their system. When the moment demanded toughness, the defense answered. When it was time to close the door, the offense stepped forward. Championship football is about timing and Carver had it.

But this victory belongs to more than the players and coaches alone. It belongs to the parents who showed up, the students who filled the stands, the alumni who still bleed Tiger blue, and the entire Columbus community that rallied behind these young men week after week. From neighborhood watch parties to packed buses headed to Atlanta, the pride was unmistakable.

In a city rich with athletic tradition, G.W. Carver continues to remind the state why Columbus football commands respect. This championship isn’t just a banner for the gym wall, it’s a message: when preparation meets opportunity, and when leadership is rooted in legacy, greatness follows.

To the 2025 Tigers: you didn’t just win a title,  you gave your city a moment it will talk about for years. And to Columbus: this one is yours.

State champions. Undefeated. Forever Tigers.
